Disc Dog Skills (DD) Titling and Skills Examiner (SS) Titling

Skyhoundz recognizes that despite the large number of canine disc competitions in the Skyhoundz Series, many enthusiasts are unable to attend Skyhoundz disc dog competitions. Disc Dog Skills Titles will be administered by Skyhoundz Disc Dog Skills Examiners who are themselves titled as described more fully below.

Skyhoundz Skills Titles (D/A and Freestyle)

SS-Distance/Accuracy Basic

The Skyhoundz Skills Distance/Accuracy Basic Title (SS-Distance/Accuracy Basic) is awarded to teams that complete three 20-yard throws within a 60-second period.

SS-Distance/Accuracy Advanced

The Skyhoundz Skills Distance/Accuracy Advanced Title (SS-Distance/Accuracy Advanced) is awarded to teams that complete three 30-yard throws within a 60-second period.

SS-Distance/Accuracy Expert

The Skyhoundz Skills Distance/Accuracy Expert Title (SS-Distance/Accuracy Expert) is awarded to teams that complete three 30-yard throws and one 40-yard throw in within a 60-second period.

SS-Distance/Accuracy Elite

The Skyhoundz Skills Distance/Accuracy Elite Title (SS-Distance/Accuracy Elite) is awarded to teams that complete four 40-yard throws or five 30-yard throws within a 60-second period.

SS-Freestyle Basic

The Skyhoundz Skills Freestyle Throwing Basic Title (SS-Freestyle Basic) is awarded to teams that demonstrate five demonstrably different throws, releases or tricks, paired with successful canine catches within a 60-second period.

SS-Freestyle Advanced

The Skyhoundz Skills Freestyle Throwing Advanced Title (SS- Freestyle Advanced) is awarded to teams that demonstrate 10 demonstrably different throws, releases, or tricks, paired with successful canine catches within a 60-second period.

SS-Freestyle Expert

The Skyhoundz Skills Freestyle Throwing Expert Title (SS-Freestyle Expert) is awarded to teams that demonstrate 15 demonstrably different throws, releases, or tricks, paired with successful canine catches within a 90-second period. At least two of the aforementioned throws must travel at least 20 yards during the 90-second period.

SS-Freestyle Elite

The Skyhoundz Skills Freestyle Throwing Elite Title (SS-Freestyle Elite) is awarded to teams that demonstrate 20 demonstrably unique throws, releases, or tricks paired with successful canine catches within a 90-second period. At least three of the aforementioned throws must travel at least 20 yards during the 90-second period.

Skills Examiner Titles

DD-SE Distance/Accuracy

The Disc Dog Skills Examiner Distance/Accuracy Title (DD-SE Distance/Accuracy) is awarded to individuals who have completed at least five Skyhoundz Competition Titles including two Distance/Accuracy-related titles at the advanced or higher level.

Note: Prior to administering Skyhoundz Skills Distance/Accuracy Titling tests (SS-Distance/Accuracy), you must have completed the requirements for, and been awarded, the Title of Disc Dog Skills Examiner Distance/Accuracy (DD-SE Distance/Accuracy), or successfully completed a Skyhoundz Disc Dog Skills Examiner – Distance/Accuracy Seminar taught, from time-to-time, by Skyhoundz officials.

DD-SE Freestyle

The Disc Dog Skills Examiner Freestyle Title (DD-SE Freestyle) is awarded to individuals who have completed at least five Skyhoundz Competition Titles including two Freestyle-related titles at the advanced or higher level.

Note: Prior to administering Skyhoundz Skills Freestyle Titling tests (SS-Freestyle), you must have completed the requirements for, and been awarded, the Title of Disc Dog Skills Examiner Freestyle (DD-SE), or successfully completed a Skyhoundz Disc Dog Skills Examiner Freestyle Seminar taught, from time-to-time, by Skyhoundz officials.
